And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this
rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall
not prevail against it.

Our Beginning.
Brief Synopsis of Our Church History.
In April 1925, at 1440 W. Fulton Street, four individuals came together under a common bond to carry on a Christian Mission of doing God’s work. The seed was sown, the nucleus formed and the church was fully organized.

The church held worship services at the following addresses:

1726 West Lake Street during 1928 and 1929; 1850 West Lake Street during 1930 and 1931. In 1932, the church moved to 1703-09 West Lake Street for five years. In 1937, it moved to 1742 West Fulton Street. Being inspired by God, Rev. Richardson saw a need for a place more desirable and accommodating for worship, and so this building 2841 W. Washington Blvd. was secured at a purchase price of $35,000 with a $15,000 down payment and the march into our present location took place on: Sunday, June 29, 1947.
